Rango (2011)

My Rotten Tomatoes rating: 20%

I did not care for this movie. i mean sure, watching it didn't start great when the crew of the movie theater didn't even start the move OR place in the correct audio until i personally informed them both time in the front desk. but even then, i really didn't miss much then.

Plot: Okay, a lizard that's an actor gets separated from his owners, then lands on a western town called Dirt which is managed economically by water. as water becomes dangerously low, the lizard gives himself the name of Rango and through improve makes up a character saying that he's this deadly gun-slinger. he eventually become sheriff of the town after he luckily kills a hawk.

Well i know what i'm trying to say might not make too much sense to you guys the way i'm saying it but the main problem with the story of this film is how it is very cliche despite one or two things that were different and how hard it tries to be similar to movies like Kung Fu Panda where they more or less make the movie very entertaining despite how is is also a bit cliche. now i can respect the idea of being in any way similar to that idea or motive with this movie. what i can't respect however, is how by trying to do so they are stuffing all sorts of ideas that plenty of movies have already done concerning things like comedy-such as the comedy, the narrators with breaking the fourth wall, and more. and even then it's generally a very predictable movie all around.

Acting/characters: Just the way it was suppose to be...i just wish there weren't points in this movie were Johnny Depp's voice and the particular animation for Rango, made Rango more of a plain, lizard version of Kermit the Frog in someway. and as much as i really hate snakes, i thought Rattlesnake Jake was a nice bad-a.

Screenplay: my main problem with this outside of the cliche stuff i the brief language. i mean it's not a big deal for most of us, but this movie does aim on children as well unless i'm mistaken. i mean one of the studios that made this was NICKELODEON! seriously.

Animation: was really fricking good. very realistic looking. yikes.

music: I am having a hard time believing after watching some of the credits that the music was done by Hans Zimmer. i mean i haven't heard all of his work, but knowing some of it from movies from Prince of Egypt, to the Dark Knight movies, to Sherlock Holmes...well elt's just way it's bad enough that i didn't find the music much at all let alone liked finding out that he did it.

And that's my review for Rango. i just didn't really care for this movie and i think it's getting a little too much praise.
